Beany Brain #104: Beany Brain 100 Playlist + Extra Funnies for our Brainies

Beany Brain: loving our jumping-bean brains!
Welcome to this issue of the Beany Brain! I hope today’s newsletter will bounce us up as we contemplate the upsides and challenges of being neurodivergent, a little beauty, some creativity, and just general yeehawesomeness.

Spotify Playlist: Beany Brain 100
Back in my 100th BB newsletter, I shared a list of 100 songs that I enjoy.
I had some interest from some of you, and so I’ve made a Spotify playlist to share.
Here you go! Listen to all 6 hours 25 minutes in one go, or break it up into toilet-cleaning or washing-dishes chunks of time.
In the process of playlisting, I found that I had listed the song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” by Jimmy Buffett twice. Ha! I do like Jimmy and I do like food and I love cheeseburgers, so maybe I just subconsciously need some iron from the red meat?
Anyway, to make it an even 100 I put in a bonus song for you all.
Happy listening and happy dancing!

Extra Funnies for our Beany Brainies
As you read this, we’ll be traveling from the UK back to Japan via Incheon in South Korea, so I’ve put this together in advance for your funny-bone delectation.
Laugh on, friends.

Yeehawesome!
Yeehawesome! is a happy-brain roundup in each issue of Beany Brain. What’s happening that’s good in brain land? What’s bringing me joy?
A Quiet Zone on a train from High Wycombe to Oxford (there was a dog who occasionally barked, and a group of friends chatting, but overall, quieter than regular carriages).

Quote of the Week
Life is a hard battle anyway. If we laugh and sing a little as we fight the good fight of freedom, it makes it all go easier. I will not allow my life’s light to be determined by the darkness around me.

Wonderful Wednesday
Wonderful Wednesday was a day once a year in college when they would suddenly and surprisingly call off all classes and we’d play all day. The cafeteria provided special fun food and we’d do stuff outside like slip ‘n slides and jello wrestling in sumo suits. This segment of Beany Brain is dedicated to that memory of silliness and fun—no words, just a photo from the week that I’ve taken or found that reminds me to let the joy in. Since Beany Brain is published on Wednesday every week (at least, Wednesday in Japan), I hope you enjoy this Wonderful Wednesday.
